The Bulwell Connectors is a monthly meet-up for local artists and residents who are, or want to be, art champions for their area.
Meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, the Connectors are a positive and supportive group who want to see more art within Bulwell – both participatory opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels and also art within public spaces in Bulwell.
Set up in September 2017, the group have been on a number of trips over the last year including Chatsworth sculptures in the garden exhibition; Nottingham Contemporary, Backlit and Primary in Nottingham and the Arts and Wellbeing programme at Derby Hospital. We use Bulwell Riverside as a base for our meetings, look after a regularly-changing exhibition space and work in collaboration with the library and Bulwell Arts Festival to develop opportunities for people to get creative!
We jointly commissioned April Towriess to create the amazing Joining Lines exhibition, along with 37 crocheters who took part in creating a beautiful installation for Riverside throughout July 2018. The Connectors also led an Art Walk around Bulwell Riverside, through the bogs and into the market place as part of Bulwell Arts Festival this year.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Cathy Mahmood on 07808 165209 or email firstname.lastname@example.org Everyone is welcome to come and find out more.
