Aspley Sewing Workshop is back! Fridays, 10am-2pm at ACTC

We’re super delighted to announce that the Aspley Sewing Workshop is returning to ACTC on Fridays from 10am – 2pm every week!

The project was established in February and ran for an initial 8 weeks with the wonderful Kim Errington from Make to Make, funded by the Aspley Ward Councillors and Near Neighbours fund.

‘Near Neighbours’ funds projects that bring people together from different faiths and backgrounds and we were delighted with the success of the project… 39 local women got involved, sharing skills, discovering new ones, making friends and supporting each other to get creative. A number of women have now got their own sewing machines and are completely hooked!

No one wanted the group to stop – so I’m pleased to say we’re back from 1st June! Thanks to Nottingham College and the Aspley Ward Councillors… keep coming ladies!

We are keen to enable mums to come along too, so will be applying to Nottingham Together to bring back the creche.  Huge thanks to all those involved, Patience Ifediora who has championed the project from the start, and Karen Lee-Burton from Nottingham College who is enabling us to keep going!

Come along on 1st June 2018, to register your place and have a go!

Donations of cloth, threads, scissors and sewing books and patterns are all welcome!
