Applications open for the BFI Academy for 16 – 19 yr olds, at Broadway Cinema

This is a great opportunity for young people with a real passion for film and filmmaking.

Broadway has been selected for the fifth time in four years as a Regional Delivery Partner for the BFI’s Film Academy Network. The BFI Film Academy offers 20 talented 16-19-year-olds with a passion for film the opportunity to be part of our future film industry.

“The Broadway BFI Film Academy is a great experience, giving a detailed inside look of the film industry, as well as how films are developed and produced. I’ve met some brilliant people and have been inspired to continue down this career path.” – Amber Bright, BFI Film Academy participant, 2015/16 course.

The programme will give a practical ‘hands on’ insight into the film industry. Participants will develop a complete understanding of film, and gain experience of a variety of roles within filmmaking, leading to the production of three short films which will be screened in front of a public audience at Broadway Cinema in April 2017.

The Film Academy will run from 19 October 2016 until 9 February 2017 and will be held at Broadway over evenings and weekends.

Applications are now open and close at midnight 12 September 2016
